Frequently asked questions.

Where are you located?

You can find us at 150 Office Road Merivale (Level 2). Our new Mat Studio is right next door to our existing Reformer space - same vibe, fresh feel.

There are plenty of free parking options close by.

Intro pass, who can do the intro pass?

Intro passes are for new, local clients only. With your pass, you can book both of our Reformer & Mat classes.

When does the 7 day period begin?

The intro pass is valid for 4 classes over a 7 day period. We do not offer extensions for any reason.

Your 7 day period begins from the date of your first booked class. If you decide you want to book a class that occurs before the initial class you have booked, you will need to cancel the first class booked to restart.

How do I book a class?

The best way to book is to download the Momence app and search for Grounded. The other option is to click the schedule tab on our website.

We recommend booking in advance, especially for popular classes or peak times.

What’s the difference between Reformer and Dynamic Mat Pilates?

Reformer Pilates uses the Reformer machine to support and challenge your body through resistance-based movements.

Dynamic Mat Pilates, on the other hand, uses your own body weight, props (like blocks, bands, and heavier weights), and Pilates principles to build strength, tone, and stability. It’s mat-based, strength-focused, and deeply intentional - think sculpt, sweat, and core connection.

Are Dynamic Mat classes suitable for beginners?

Yes! All of our classes are designed to be layered – meaning you’ll be guided through foundational form first, with options to level up or modify depending on your experience and how your body feels that day. Our instructors are always happy to support.

I’m recovering from an injury / I’m pregnant, can I still come?

Absolutely – we have specific classes (like our Age Strong Movement or Pre & Postnatal sessions) designed with you in mind. Just let us know ahead of time so our instructors can offer safe and supportive modifications.

Late cancels and no shows

What is the cancellation policy?

We appreciate life gets busy - but, we have a strict 12 hour cancellation policy. We do not accept email or phone cancellations and kindly request you manage your schedule through the website or the Momence App.

The Waitlist

How many spots are on the waitlist before the class is closed and full?

There are 4 waitlist spots. If there is no option to book the class it means all 4 spots are taken & the class is fully booked until this changes. It's a good idea to join the waitlist, even if you are number 4 at the beginning of the week this can change, as people's plans change so you have a high chance of getting into class.

What does it mean if I join the waitlist?

When you choose to join a waitlist you are selecting to attend the class. You can be added to the class up to 30 minutes before the start time. If you can no longer attend please cancel yourself from the waitlist to avoid losing a class credit. This can be managed and viewed on the schedule tab of your Momence profile.

Will I be charged if I don't attend a class where I have been added from the waitlist?

If you have been added to a class from the waitlist before the class begins, our regular late cancel/no show rules apply. You will lose your class for a late cancel or no show, if it’s an additional class for members it will be charged to your account at the normal rate.

We suggest checking emails before going to bed at night, if you're still on the waitlist - this will give you an opportunity to CANCEL out of the waitlist so that you don't miss this window.

Late Entry

We allow late entry up to 5 minutes before class as a one off.

We kindly ask that you arrive 5 minutes before class has started so you have enough time to be signed in, asked about any necessary modifications and to set up your reformer and equipment. Once the instructor has begun teaching, none of the above can happen.

When am I ready to move up a level?

You can perform basic exercises with correct form and control.

Your muscles can handle more resistance, and you can sustain longer sets without fatigue. You are comfortable standing on the reformer using lighter springs without support.

You notice improved flexibility and stability in your movements.

You have a good understanding of your body's alignment and can make adjustments during exercises.

You are comfortable using the Reformer and can transition smoothly between different exercises.

Consulting with your instructor is a great way to receive personalised feedback and ensure you're advancing safely and effectively. We always encourage clients to challenge themselves and would love to welcome you to the next level but it is important that you are attending a class in a level that's suitable for you so that you get the most benefit out of your practice.
